A FEW MORE ZIPP 2004 404!
2005 R2.5 WITH 2004 ZIPP 404 TUBLAR OR CLINCHERS WHEELS [/url]SKU: 2005 404

The R2.5 is a full carbon fiber frame. Unlike many hybrids, all its tubes and lugs are carbon fiber. The only non-carbon parts on the frame are the dropouts, bottom bracket threads and headset cups.

Designers at Cervelo have done their work and it shows. They have managed to drop the frame weight to sub 2.5 lbs and keep all of it's rigidity and superb ride qualities. Although low weight is important while climbing, it is pointless if the frame does not possess the stiffness to transfer the rider's power to the rear wheel or if it lacks the rigidity to safely descend on the other side of the mountain. Therefore the true measure of a good design is not to have the lowest weight, but the highest stiffness-to-weight ratio. Beware - Most other carbon frames in this weight class have had to sacrifice the ride character for weight reduction, they tend to be too flexible and have nervous and unstable ride qualities.

This year's Tour De France has seen great exploits from Ivan Basso, Jacob Piil and Jens Voight and Carlos Sastre - all riding the R2.5
