FWIW I've been spinning for years and been a spin instructor for over two. Every 'spinning' room I have been involved with has been lit with black lights. The creator of spinning is a bit of a 'free' thinker and if he had his way he would have the room completely black. If you're used to some other type of class lamond, reabok, etc. they may not have the same philosophy.

Personally I don't mind having the newer equipment, the thing that bugs me about some gyms is that its more of a social center then a place to sweat. The people that show up in cologne or full makeup and jewelry need to stay out of the way please.
