Re: Negative powercrank study [rmur]

okay. Just trying to read that amongst the X's bring lots of questions to mind but it's late here. I'm sure there will be comments later ....

They did the post-training power test using normal cranks for both groups though correct?
I quickly looked to see but I didn't see that they specified any specifics about testing but I would presume so. It is hard to read in the posted format. It isn't entirely clear what they did. I would think it would be impossible for the average new user to come in and the first day to do this "In the first session, eight repetitions with duration of 3 min at 50 rpm and 80% of individual anaerobic threshold (IAT) and total recovery (at 90 rpm and 40% IAT) between the repetitions were performed. In the second session ten repetitions with a 3-min duration of at varying pedaling rates (from 60 rpm up to the individual max.) and 70% of IAT and total recovery between the repetitions was performed." I especially would have enjoyed watching them "recover" after each 3 minute pedaling session at 80% AT by continuing to pedal at 90 RPM and ONLY 40% AT. LOL. These people would have been lucky to have been able to do this in the last session, let alone the first. Yet, they do not seem to comment on any problems they might have had, at least that I have seen yet.
