just tuned in afterlong dog walk. looks pretty depressing as a someone besides MvdP fan. no volume, so there could be info the video is missing but 3 alpecin who are not Jasper or MvdP looks rough for anyone else going for it.
the (futile) hope I'm holding out - the bttle between Jasper and MvdP might create some openings for splits with other favorites - it doesnt look like anyone has thrown their best punches yet.

re: crashes - is there any sport where riders take the risks of drafting team cars (which are dodging other vehicles and team cars for other riders with flats) at 10cm on cobbles? no thanks.

mvdp in such a good spot with the way alpecin manages these races. i didn't pick him, but this scenario is what i'd envisioned. he's got the best sprinter and a strong helper as foils, and the group is tiny already.
