Thanks a bunch Carl,

I went to a local bike shop over Christmas and they determined that I needed the medium. I have been riding a 54 inch Orbea Orca. I am 5'11" and have a long torso. I did get a professional fit on the Orbea, so I do have the fit coordinates around somewhere. I'll try to get those to you so you can confirm the medium fit. Not sure if it matters, but I'm racing half and full ironman.

Thanks again Carl,

Ben

I just bought a new 7.2 and was wondering if there are any suggestions to which ant+ comp I should put on it. I was hoping to not spend too much money (hence the 7.2 purchase) but not sure about the nodes? Also, if anyone has a duotrap or ant+ comp they want to sell please let me know!

I have a 310xt, but am also looking into something with a bigger screen. If two people speak up, I'd also be interested in one priced not-too-expensively.

Hey Carl, thank you for such quick answer, you are amazing.
So i can order any of these 2 parts, or it depends on something?
Is that the same thing as Shimano SM-BB91-41B Bottom Bracket Press Fit 86 BB?
thnx

same thing, different packaging. the -088 is in all domestic warehouses at the moment. -609 is only in the midwest. if you're international, I don't know what the availability is.

Carl,

How can I order the top-tube grommet W311599?

Is going to my LBS the only way, I may not be able to get there for a bit.

Thanks.

you could see if your LBS is part of our online sales program and order thru them that way...or another local Trek dealer who is participating. best to give them a call.

Thanks Carl,

Next question, if you don't mind:

I just ran the cables through the frame (started 2 hours ago. Pretty fast, eh? ^_^). There were no cables when I bought the frameset, so I'm going off that little tiny picture in the user manual handbook, and by logic.

Re: the front derailleur, it seems as if the wheel might be rubbing against the housing that's coming out? It doesn't look like there's a way to adjust wheel clearance, and if there were, I think I'd want the tire as close to the frame without rub.

Anyways, is this what it's supposed to look like?

housing doesn't run all the way out of the frame to either derailleur. the FD housing stops at a BB cable guide/cable stop pictured below and here. PN w310482

Carl,

What are the part numbers for the grommets in the front of the base bar where the derailleur cables enter? I asked my local shop and they couldn't figure it out.

Thanks

That is NOT what the bottom of my bike looks like.

It has little "funnels" that the housing runs through. Allow me to take a photograph.

Uno momento, por favor.

You need a bottom bracket cable guide.

Why don't I have one?

Is it possible for the previous owner to have been running his setup without one?

it looks like that because you're missing the BBCG I mentioned. shift housing plugs into that and then cables run "naked" to the FD and to the driveside dropout.

some people (or their shops) ran RD housing all the way through the stays as a bandaid for what was later determined to be a rotating BBCG...fixed it with the PN I gave you. they still had to have at least the FD housing plugged into the BBCG though.

from the looks of things you'll need the housing ferrule that plugs into the driveside dropout too: w295986

OK so I'm going to need:

PN w310482
w295986
W311599

Just consolidating all the parts in one thread. I'll take a trip to my LBS tomorrow.

hey carl, thanks for your help lately with the cable routing, i re did mine and took out some of the slack and am much happier with how my bike looks now. for the life of me though i could not get my rear deraillure to stay tuned in both rings. after a quick stop at my LBS the told me were the problem lies, the bottom bracket cable guide only has one bolt so it was twisting when i shifted from the big ring to the small one. Im sure you are already aware of this though, any chance future speed concepts will have 2 bolts to hold the BBCG in place so it doesnt twist? my bike shop is putting a serrated washer in there to keep it from twisting, will this be a good fix?

thanks again for all your help

-Nick
