Although not a tri "suit" does anyone have any experience with the dhb short sleeve tri jersey on wiggle.com? The price is quite attractive.

Also, has anyone tested the 'aeroness' of the LG speed bolero worn with a tight fitting sleeveless jersey?
https://garneau.com/us/en/speed-bolero

The wrinkles in the underarm area look like they may be problematic.

Agreed on all the dhb stuff. Never really gave it a look until now but they sure pass the eye test... Would be interested if anyone has first hand experience.

I still lapped everyone on the couch!

I pulled the trigger on the Castelli San Remo. It was on sale recently as Sigma Sport for $143 USD ($229 Regular). I'm 5'9" and 160lbs. I have broad shoulders, a barrel chest and muscular arms from previous years of weightlifting. I would say that the suit is a very snug fit or race fit for me. I was surprised how low the neck line was on the front and back. Overall, the suit is amazing. I used it on a 63 mile training ride and it felt fast. It really felt great in the legs as they were quite compressive and help stabilize the muscles. The material was very thin especially at the ends of the legs. I'm not sure how it will hold up over time, but I washed the suit in the washing machine as directed and it looks fine.

I can't give a full review, since I have not swam in it. The sleeves are tight so I don't know if it will affect shoulder movement or assist with the pull. I do really like this suit for the price I paid.

Dammit I thought I had a good deal when I got my SanRemo for 21% off from Comp. Cyclist last month, that sigma sport price is $40 better! Agreed though, I really like the suit. Not sure i'm in love with the bottom of the legs as the material is not as soft as what I'm used to but it doesn't bother me while training. The inside of the zipper does annoy a bit, but outside of that I'm loving it more than my Desoto flisuit, which I didn't think was possible.

Off topic with everyone looking at expensive suits but I saw this on Amazon for cheap. Anyone know anything about this company? Seems almost worth it on a risk/reward curve for the price. Doesn't workout you have a training suit. http://www.slstri.com/

I have one- haven't actually used it yet but based on look and feel, it's what I expected for the price. The chamois seems good, and the legs are a good length. I'm 5'10 155 and the small fits well. The sleeves seem a little short, but mostly I'm looking to protect my shoulders from the sun in HIMs. I got mine from Leftlane Sports for about $60.

Size? I'm closer to 5'8" and 152-154lb race weight.

I'm a little unclear what benefits these suits are actually offering. Can anyone compare a suit like the LG to a more 'standard' skinsuit, such as this (http://www.voler.com/...e/product/li/1010J01) from voler? Even disregarding aerodynamics for a moment, what's the difference between a tri suit and a skinsuit, other than the tri suit probably having a slightly thinner chamois?

-Colin

What I love about the LG especially for IM is the front flaps open right up making it easier to get the suit on and off especially if wet from sweat should you have to stop for a #2. There is no way I can get some other suits back over my shoulders without help.

The biggest differences between a road suit (that you linked) and a tri suit will be the pad and the pockets, if the road suit has any. I have the Voler road suit for road racing. The pad is the same you find in their cycling bib shorts, and the suit has two pockets in the back that do not have any covers on them. I had planned on using this suit in a multi-event race, but I didn't not like pad for running in or nordic skiing in, but may have been comfortable for the kayak leg. I bought a Cuore tri suit for this race, and have also used this suit for some of our Wednesday night TTs when the weather has been warmer. The Cuore suit has a much smaller pad, easier to run in, and has four small pockets on the back. Two pockets have covers and the other two are basically large enough for a gel packet to slide in. I think all four pockets on the Cuore together are smaller than the two pockets on the Voler suit.

This is taking the piss!! This is the second season I race with Virklon's Aero Tri Suit and I wouldn't change it for the world. They are a top Spanish brand who accept your own bespoke design and produce very high quality garments! I got my design from a professional sports marketing company, AND the tri suit for less than $379.

I'm curious if anyone has asked the question about the aero tri suits and swim skins. It's no debate that the aero tri suits with sleeves are faster on the bike, but in a non-wetsuit swim where you are wearing an aero tri suit and a swim skin, is it faster to roll that down your to your waist/mid-section and put it on in T1 for your torso or swim in it? I have done an Ironman swim in it with my ROKA skin over it and it was one of my slowest swim in years (2nd slowest since my very first IM out of 11). I see some pros doing it both ways so I'm not sure there have been any tests on it slowing you down or having a zero effect on the swim.

I have a Kiwami Spider aero and I would not roll it down. Getting it up and positioned correctly while wet is a real issue. That said, swimming in it is really not an issue. The sleeves are extremely flexible and absolutely NO restriction at all. Just raced this weekend in kine and it was superb!

this is why we decided to manufacture a sleeved swimskin: circumvent the sleeved trisuit rolldown.
ours is called the aquarush and you keep your trisuit on. so no need to struggle with it at t1 and a much more streamlined body in the water. results are excellent and time savings are significant.

don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

I didn't have issues with restrictions, just wondering if it is more hydrodynamic with just skin vs. the sleeved suit.

I have the San Remo as well as a HUUB one
My issue is that I have skinnier arms than many Triathletes (more road cycling) and I find that the jersey looks very snug standing up but as soon as I am in an aero bars it bunches up quite badly
I am wondering if sleeved is not for me.....
Are there any designs with particularly tight arms?

Luke was wearing it at Raleigh 70.3 this year and it looked fantastic in person. Luke's been setting the apparel trend for years now and excited to see what this company can do in the market place.

Do you find the HUUB chamois is a bit too thin for long course racing ?

Reading through all of this data I'm convinced the answer is going to be, "Buy a few and send back the ones that don't work," but for the purposes of novice tri suit purchasing, which measurements should I give more weight to when checking out sizing charts, waist/chest or height? Can anyone speak in general fitting terms? Which brands tend to fit a tall, skinny guy best?

I'm 6'1" and 160, 32 waist. Should I assume that being stretchy, most suits will accommodate my height and pick one that will fit snugly? Or do I have to sell out larger to get one that won't put me on the highway to Wedgie-town?

I have a similar question. Could someone recommend a sleeved suit for the tall/skinny crowd? I'm 6' 1" 153lbs.

I always wear smalls for regular 2 piece suits and deal with the sunburn on my low back. Mediums usually fit better lengthwise but are baggy. I wear Orca and Castelli small tri kits, but imagine their one pieces would put me in Wedgie-town.

I have the Garneau one-piece suit. I'm 6'2" and 158ish. I wear a Medium. I don't do triathlons. I use this for the occasional TT that I do. Fits me nice and tight, but comfortable.

Kiwami runs very slender. You may want to contact Andre, as I have always been extremely pleased with my kits from him.

Just got the sleeved tri suit and first impression is that it's a really nice suit. The material feels good, the fit works for me, and the pad (for me) is ideal.

I got my VirKlon suit last month and I've been pretty impressed, especially given the price point (€115 shipped, with a custom design made by a colleague). Never had an aero tri suit before, but the fabric and cut was top notch and comparable to my Sportful jerseys.

Pain is temporary.
