want to move to Olathe, Kansas? There is a reason Ford just opened a tech center in Sili Valley...that is where the talent is. I have had to return an Edge 500 and a Forerunner back to Garmin for replacement so in my book their quality standards leave something to be desired. I will say Garmin replaced both but it was a pain.
Let's not be dramatic here. Olathe is basically Kansas City. That's like saying "Who would move to College Park, GA just to work for Porsche USA?" when College Park is the adjacent southern Suburb of Atlanta where the airport is located. Or saying you are going to a game for the Arlington Cowboys instead of the Dallas Cowboys.
Yes, Kansas City is not Silicon Valley, but we also are not talking about a tech company on the scale of Google, Apple, or Microsoft. There should be no shortage of talent in the midwest willing to move to KC. I have to think there is a large population of graduates from Mizzou, KU, & KSU who end up there anyway and those schools probably turn out some pretty damn good software developers & engineers.
I'm not saying Garmin isn't without their flaws, but let's not blame their location on their problems.
