In february 2005 i'm for business in Washington DC during 2 weeks. Any suggestions for swimming over there (i'm training for IM Lanzarote in May so I can't afford not to swim those 2 weeks). Thanks.

The best place to swim IMO is at the George Mason University Aquatic Center in Fairfax, VA about 10 mins outside the beltway. This is were I swim. Its a 50M pool but is usually set-up for 25M with a gazillion lanes. It is quite a facility, check it out at http://aquatics.gmu.edu/
As far as closer to Washington you can check out GWU and Georgetown as well as the local Sport&Health clubs.

The George Mason facility is great but it's 20 miles from the center of DC. If you are stuck in the city I recommend the YMCA on Rhode Island Avenue, NW. It's about 1 mile from the White House. Sorry I don't have more info but you should be able to find it on the web.

It depends where you will be working... Here's a list of pools in the District: http://app.dpr.dc.gov/DPR/information/swimming_pools/index.asp
