snow is coming

big one day storm - why does everyone always freak out and run to the grocery store and buy everything that isn't nailed down?

it's a conspiracy between forecasters and grocery stores.

I wonder the same thing also, and the ones buying all the food could stand to go a few days without eating. Why do people say "your running in this"? I had a t-shirt made up that simply says "Whats your excuse?" I wear it when it is 90 degrees and humid or -10 and freezing while running, gets the point accross.. Happy running

I don't think it's coming, it's just breathing heavy.

Seems like we've had 10-12" here, and yet someone actually showed up to look at our house this morning.

Got about a foot last night - and now the 'lake effect' snow is coming down. I may classify shoveling as my Saturday run.

Cant believe it. I'm driving my 4 wheel drive thru the snow and pulling into the gym, when some nut pulls up next to me on a bike! ;-)

So, what kind of treads you have on that snow-bike of yours. Knowing this board your snow bike is probably a P3....(or everyone will tell you to buy one)

Here comes the snow...Ridgewood, NJ 12:00 PM EST on the button...kinda creepy..the timing and all of that...

BTW, I purchased snowshoes yesterday. My wife just shook her head.....

First annual Iditajersey on the way.......

Sunny here in Boulder. Heading out for a cross country race. Forecast for the week is 50-60 degrees.

For snow almost any open knobby works well. For ice nothing but studded will work. If your really really into commuting or will not not ride no matter what a special bike is the way to go. A couple of custom builders will build a bike with extra wide rear stays and an extra wide front fork for use with very wide rims. The biggest tire possible with almost no pressure and Gerber bay gears and you can pedal in almost anything.

I was just at the gym, and no not everyone on here is able to buy the latest mega gear. My snow bike is an 80's fuji, but next year it will be a fixie or a single speed, too much stuff freezes up on this one.

I hate to tell you this fellas, but it was 77 degs yesterday in Texas.

The tragedy is, both Tibbs and myself let work keep us from getting a ride in. What's the world coming to?

I just moved from Tx to Utah last week. Cycling sure is different. Cant believe I got 60 miles in today at 7000' to 8000' above sea level -but I did. Not as warm as Tx. but a heck of a lot more scenic!
