I've been seeing the f-word a lot, too. Unnecessary. I'll stop.

The way things having been going I full well expect somebody to suggest a slowtwitch orgy. What an awful sight that would be... 50 out of shape men and not a woman insight.

I think it is because of the off season. There are no race reports, we're all just kind of sitting around during the off season with nothing to do but think about naughty things.

All right for you Northerners, moaning about the cold and the dark and needing an outlet for your obsessive training impulses, and using the forum to articulate your fantasies and postulate your horny ideas, but we poor buggers in the milder climes of the South have no excuse - we're just your basic degenerates who'll go along with any thread appealing to our baser instincts. I, for one, think about naughty things a lot, and have no way of using the 'winter blahs' defence' at all. Thanks a lot for the exposure :-).

I'd be willing to bet that there are more porn-type sites than any other type of site ... and yet, folks always feel the need to post porn-related stuff where it doesn't belong.
Personally, and I am speaking from experience here, not the soapbox ... whenever a decent amount of your discussions come back to or involve porn-sex stuff, It's time to examine (and IMO, remedy) the situation. Whenever your posting pics of porn-type stuff on sites not set-up for that and asking to see pics of other people's wives and girlfriends ... and even daughters (why?), there is likely something that needs adjusted.
Just suggesting.

Perhaps this is the reason that the board is not seeing a lot of women.
The yuckygross side of the testosterone level is getting pretty thick in here.

I'm no prude, but I have to say it's gotten pretty bad. Reading some of the threads lately has made me feel like I'm back in high school. I've pretty much decided I'll no longer visit this site for a while and see if it gets better later. The lavender room was working great, for a while. People stopped talking politics on here, but it's gotten pretty off topic and somewhat embarrassing lately. No hard feelings though. If people want this sort of stuff and Slowman's okay with it, it's not my business.

Are you lumping Kittycat in with the "yuck gross" stuff? It was SHE that started the very funny s.e.x. thread and she posted a warning. It's all in good fun.

Hey kittycat is a chick she brought up the frequency of doing it! It's not all about boys.

Agreed - the main triathlon forum has gone downhill of late thanks mainly to the plethora of OT subjects, such as computer questions and "Who's got the hottest dog?", many by regular posters who you'd think would know better. Those threads are what Slowman created the Lavender room for. Maybe he could appoint a couple of administrators with the power to drag threads off to the lavender room (like he did with the hottie thread), or even delete them? (I assume slowman is too busy resigning from things and writing (very good) articles to police it himself).

Hi - I'm one of the 'computer thread' people. Sorry if that annoyed you. I did try to minimize the 'LOL' and 'bump' replies to keep the first forum page clear if there was no interest from others in carrying on the conversation.
I was thinking of posting it in the Lav Room, but then, I always feel the need to take a shower when I go there. And it gets fewer viewers, or so I'd like to think... I know, partly because people don't post meaningful threads over there outside of religion, politics, warfare, and hotties. Anyways, I think the Lavender room definitely works in keeping that stuff off the main page. OTOH, I'd be cool w/ it if my thread got dragged off to there, although I realize it's gotta be someone doing that, and time is probably short in SlowLand.
As for the issue at hand, I agree that it's gotten a little to NC17 for my taste lately (and I'm a Euro, so I have a high threshold for this stuff). I work in a public office, and thongs on my PC screen is not really what my coworkers need to see.

What's interesting is the number of views on *those* posts as compared to the number of views on actual Slowtwitch-type posts. Not making a judgement either way. Personally, I like getting my Slowtwitch and sex in the same place. It just makes life easier.

This is all just a phase and it happened last winter too. I agree more people should put threads in the lavender room, especially if it has to do with women, sex, bikinis etc but what I find funny is that I haven't seen too much here that I can't see on regular TV. I agree with the suggestion that Slowman give a couple people the ability to move threads to the Lavender Room, that is what is for. Of course, it would be much easier if we would all just post in the appropriate place. I thought the front page was only for sport related posts?

I agree that the forum has definitely become R-rated. I honestly can't read posts anymore if my kids are in the room and might be looking over my shoulder. Before you say I should just avoid the obvious "OT" threads, there are still many relevant threads where people feel free to spew profanity-laced responses. I don't want to have to explain to my kids why I'm reading stuff on the internet where the "F-Bomb" gets dropped so frequently. This is just my opinion and I'm sure there is someone out there who will kindly tell me to go F--- myself if I don't like it. In the end it comes down to the fact that this is Slowman's site and he alone will decide what is and isn't appropriate, which is the way it should be.

Seems to me it's a self-regulating kind of thing. If you're not into the goofy threads, then only open the ones that say "Carbon aero seatposts - what's the total time savings over 40k?"
I'd agree that some of the posts (read: Monk's) are a big silly, but what the hell.

This must be one of the last sites, not blocked for content. So police agencies, boy schools, DOD , city, county, maybe libraries, Muslims , can get a bit of skin on the local computers.
since their content scan, just found posts, carbon wheels, heart rate monitors, best shoes,
How else can one explain the amount of views on some threads, Hotties ,?
