Is it cold there? Some cyclist seem to have full winter gear (leg and arm warmers) on (by California standard).

I see Tom did not make his 1:10 swim. 1:14:15 with a 7:36 T1. can't remember his target time for T1 in his quest for 11hrs

I'm just back from watching the swim. The weather is just about perfect - not a cloud in the sky right now so I imagine it will be a bit warm out there. The wind was starting to pick up on the run back to my apartment, so the bike could get a bit tough. Should be a good day.

It is cool away from the lake. I would say high 50's. By the lake though it is a bit breezy. Give it a few hours it will pop right into the 70's for near perfect racing conditions! Tonight should be nice and cool for all the late finishers. Hopefully the scattered showers hold off as predicted by the local weather peeps.

The water looked pretty flat to me. I didn't notice much of a wind on the top of Monona Terrace for most of the swim. But it's picking up.

What was the water temp? I noticed that it was not wetsuits for the Pros. Do they have a different cut off. I know the ITU guys it is lower.

I thought that the cutoff for pros was 72, 78 for age groupers.

Jodi,

I beleieve you are right. So they are using the same Pro cut off as the ITU at 72F. Interesting. That is the first time that I have seen this really enforced at an IM race.
