ipod shuffle

Anyone have one of these? http://store.apple.com/....0.1.3.0.5.1.3.1.1.0Thoughts on them? 1Gb mp3 player at this price and size/weight seems pretty damn good given the quality of the ipods.

I'm probably gonna be getting one for my birthday next month. It does exactly what I need - play mp3s. No photos, no other add-on crap that bumps the price up. The cool thing is it's really really small. If you click the link and scroll down a little, they have a small photo showing the size differences. This thing is tiny.

Yeah, the size/weight and simlicity is the appeal to me (I must still be the only guys that doesn't want a camera or pda attatched to his cellphone!). If you can switch off the random factor I would be pissed that I just got a mini! Very nice, you must let me know how you like it.

You can switch off the random shuffle, its on the same page. I ordered one to collect in Singapore in a weeks or so but now they say maybe another 2 months as stocks are zip!

DJ Your Day
If you favor cycling to a hip-hop soundtrack and snowboarding to a little electronica, Autofill a specific iTunes Playlist to your iPod shuffle and roll. Or just drag and drop individual songs or albums from iTunes onto iPod shuffle. With Play in Order mode, you manage the music. If things take a turn for the predictable, never fear. Flip the Shuffle toggle on the back of iPod shuffle and mix on the go.

By which time I shall probably just be comfortable with my ipod mini! Still at least the shuffle can't be used through the tuner in my car, I hope!

I did not understand if you already have an iPOD mini or not. But if simplicity is the main issue the iPOD mini is very simple and easy to use. My wife hates gadgets and thought she would know how to use an iPOD. She tried my mini three weeks ago and uses it daily – I have not seen it since. She loves it. It is so easy. The 4 gig memory is also much better - I thought I don't need more than 0.5-1.0. But three weeks after I got the mini I already filled it. So if you don’t have any MP3 at all I suggest you go for the mini. I particularly like the idea of creating play lists. I have one for relaxing, another for pumping iron in the GYM and so on. You cannot do this with the Shuffle.

I Have a 4g 40 and a shuffle. The shuffle is tiny, and has plenty of memory for running or hitting the gym, so it's perfect for what I want it for. The fact that it has no screen, very few moving parts and minimal features should make it pretty tough to destroy, which is it's biggest plus for me.

If you search a bit, you can find radio transmission units that aren't Ipod specific, IE work off a sub-mini trs jack, and any of these will work with the shuffle.

Sure I have a ipod mini, Pluto, are you winding me up? I like the fact that the shuffle is so small and light and don't care that it has no screen. With a 1Gb memory that equatates to a playlist for the day's session on the trainer or in the gym. That size is small enough to use to warm up and divorce yourself from what is going on around you and let still go into your pre-race kit bag without screaming "steal me" to anyone.
