there was a cable cutting thread a while back, i could not find it. but someone posted that lighting a match under the cable for 10 secs made cutting it, quite easy and made for a clean cut.

well it freaking works! for the first time i have installed a clean cable end! very tight! i just used std wire cutters and they cut the cable like butter. i think having the cables heated also slightly melted the ends and they stayed together perfectly.

just wanted to say thanks and re-affirm this is a great tip.
