Using Garmin Vector on 2 bikes
I have two road bikes and I am wondering whether its possible to use the left-pedal on my first bike and the right-pedal on the second bike. That way I can have 2 power meters for the price of one. I don't really care about the Left/Right readings so much as I am more interested in the average power. Do you think this will hypothetically work?

Interested why you would do that, it would only take 2 minutes to just exchange pedals between bikes
That is the whole point of the pedal system.

I would assume you would need two head units so unless you want to buy two (which would defeat the purpose of low budget) then I would say no.

But seriously, how long does it take to swap pedals? 30 seconds?

I thought one pedal transmits it's data to the other pedal and then it in turn transmits all data to the head unit.

Correct, the right pedal.

Thus, the bike/person with the left pedal gets a raw deal.

Plus it would only tell you your right leg power right?

The ANT+ data stream transmits total power (watts) and then percentage of the right power (%). The left power is determined based on simple math.

Hi all, thanks for the clarification. Guess I will be using the torque wrench after all. 2 more months to go!

Hi DC Rainmaker,
Thanks for the awesome preview of the Garmin Vector. I have a power-tap which I have been using for a year and I can't wait to use a pedal-based power meter.

So if you only had the right pedal it would say 100% right and the power displayed would only be from your right leg?

That's my understanding. I could try it out in the ANT+ simulator for fun, but I didn't bring my Edge 800 with my on vacation.
