Zurich tri-scene
I am going to Zurich for a week on Monday. Any knowledgeable posters familiar with good places to run and hopefully ride (or bike rental shops ?).

It's not a "training trip" , going for business , but should be able to squeeze in 1.5-2hrs a day .Thanks.

Zurich resident here. Not part of the tri-scene but know my way around and do know some good place to train.

If you know where you'll be staying in would be easier as I'm gonna assume you don't want to spend all your free time travelling someplace ;).

For starter, theswiss did recommend a good pool, but there is actually one right in the city center which is walking distance from all the main hotels in Zurich. Here are two links with some pictures:

As for running, there are plenty of places really, just let me know where you are staying and I'll let you know the best places (or most interesting). For starter, you can run part of the IM Zurich route along the lake (which is going to be your closest running spot for sure + it's in a park, kinda) - check the map below. This will be a nice run if the weather is nice.

As for biking. Tough one. I'm not sure where you can rent bikes. And even if you could, I doubt they would be any good.

If you give me some idea where you'll be staying I'll give you some places to check out.

Running is no problem .... were are you staying? You can run along the lake if you want it flat, or up one of the hills.

Bike rental: might be difficult (a normal bike just to get around on in the city is not a problem). Try asking Beat of Santa Monica Sports: http://www.santamonica.ch/.

Swimming: the 50m pool in Oerlikon is very nice and has already been mentioned. Here's a complete list of all pools in the city: http://www3.stzh.ch/...e/schwimmbaeder.html

Slightly outside, the 50m pool in Wallisellen is also very nice.
