Flat would be along the lake to either side or along the Sihl or Limmat river.
If you want to run hilly, just head up Zurichberg (northeast from the hotel).
Great place to run. Just run, anywhere!

CAMPAGNOLO GRAN FONDO NEW YORK

You're just a couple hundred meters from the lake which is nice. Also, across from the SihlCity shopping center is a big sports field/center "Saalsporthalle" which is a nice trail start...you can follow a small river or take a right hand turn and go uphill into the Uetliberg forest network. You can go for hours in any direction... From maps.google.ch, query "Zurich Saalsporthalle" to get the starting point. Yellow "Wanderweg" (trail) signs are everywhere. Just follow one.

If you want to get out of the city area, Greifensee lake is 20min by train and it's a 17km loop around. Also nice to run there up and over the forest from Zurich then take the train home.

You should see a load of people out running on Saturday as it's the Sola run - a 117km relay race around Zurich (14people/team). I'll be doing it with people from work.
