"Zipp - During the Tour, Phonak’s Tyler Hamilton and CSC’s Bobby Julich packed a secret weapon from the Zipp arsenal, the Zipp 808. The new Zipp 808 boasts a rim depth of 81mm and has become know for its wind cheating dimple technology also found on Zipp’s discs. Wind tunnel testing shows the 808 to be 17 seconds faster than the Zipp 404 over a 40K time trial. For 2005 the 808 will be offered as a complete (front and rear) wheelset in both tubular and clincher options and will also be offered with a rear Zipp 900 disc as the new 999 wheelset or with a front Zipp 404 as the new 666 wheelset. Peter Reid will be sporting the new 666 wheelset at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii this week. The 404 will also have Zipp’s dimple technology for 2005."
