is a Zipp 1080 front wheel (just the wheel) the same as a back 1080?
In other words, my 1080 rear clincher wheel was damaged in a crash. The hub and spokes are fine. If I bought a 1080 front clincher could the switch be made?

IIRC the 1080 was deeper than the 808 etc, I think that combo came with an extra deep rear (read deeper than 808) and a shallower front. I would look for another wheel. Also spoke count (and depth) will be different on the front and rear.
When they switched wheel profiles I believe they ditched that depth as the rim would have to be too wide, and wouldn't fit most frames. Reports are that it was an awesome rear wheel though. IIRC within a few seconds of the disc over 180 km.

Depth is the same on both but spoke count is the problem (16 for the front and 20 for the rear if I recall).
