Wildwood Amphibion Riverhead, Long Island, NY

Had the opportunity to do this race on 10/7/18.
It can be done as a solo or team swim/run, standup paddle/run or kayak/run.
The swim, SUPB or kayak is in a pristine lake called Wildwood Lake. Water is crystal clear with barely any grass.
The two trail runs are challenging. First 10k run is on all rolling hill trail on soft surface of pine needle and or semi hardpack sand. Second run is a 4 mile out and back trail run consisting of hills.
Great race and excellent race management. This race may become an epic race like SOS in the future.
Elite feats puts on the race.

It really is a gem of a race that, unfortunately, had very low turnout. 3 beautiful swims in a clear lake and 2 trail runs ... one of which features steep sandy hills ... the other one windy with smaller hills ... pine needles covered. No teams required as in other swim-run events .... but relays are welcome. Hopefully, more people will sign up for next year! http://jayasports.com/wildwood-amphibion/

Don’t miss this race next year. If SOS closes out without you there try this alternative. Certainly going to be a future epic race I predict as other races like AZ and SOS. I remember AZ started with a handful of athletes at their first race.
Oh and the swim course is certainly 0.75 mile layout as is the 1/2 miler. Great venue!
