The thread on "slower IM" times is fascinating. In every professional sport the best athletes make the most money. Who makes the most money in triathlon? Lew Kidder said ST has been making around $200K per years and she is not at the top level for money. If we know who makes the most money we will have a good indication who the best athletes are (assuming you accept the argument that the best ITU athletes could do well at IM if they tried).

Loretta Harrop must have had the highest income from prize money this year (Lifetime Fitness), I know nothing about her sponsorship deals but would guess they're also fairly good.

ITU folks make, by far, the most money across the board. Most IM-focused pros don't even make a living from being an athlete. Maybe by adding in coaching, etc., they can scrape by.
Yep. I would also go with the ITU boys...
Cause despite all the sponsors and prize money they get, most of these guys are in the Olimpic projects and they get support from their national triathlon federation.
