out of interest, i use these wheels - impressive interesting things.

the x-one hub is weird. it's hard to explain unless you ride one. the idea being to get rid of top dead centre power loss.

the 5 spoke is useable for both front and rear. you can change the hub over and keep the same wheel. so i race with a disc, 5 spoke front, and for kona a 5 spoke rear and a dish front. you get the idea, it's like having 4 wheels for 3.

they are a small company, with only one real employee, Kevin Hancett, who designs the product and has it outsourced. so far he has had offers to buy his hub patent from a few major wheel companies, but he is holding out as yet. he may be crapping on, but he has hinted that a US bike company will be using his wheels as spec in 2007.

as it is now, he is small time.

and no, i am not sponsored by him. i bought the three wheels at retail, even though i am sponsored by a major bike company.

looks very interesting...do you feel like the cranks will keep on going like a tack bike? -and - do you feel there is an advantage in the hub design?

the hub works. it's been assessed at a reputable australian university biomechanics lab, and you get consistently more power with it. i dunno. i use it, like it, and payed for it. i'd rather no one else used it, but it's a free world i suppose.
