my kids get them...they like to play with them. After a while they disappear...oh well.
I do keep my race numbers though. I have a bunch in a file folder..one day I'll do something creative with them.

All medals & ribbons go to my 4 year old and from there they pretty much disappear into the depths of the playroom or under the couch. She's convinced if I bring an award home for her than I "won". I don't feel compelled to explain the concept of CATs and Age groups to her, if she thinks I'm the winner than that's good enough for me. She sometimes gives me a little pep talk before I leave to make sure I'm going to "win" so she can get her "prize".

Hmmmmmmmmmm......
Guess I'll be the first to say that I have framed any marathon , HIM and IM with a small souvenir from the race.
Marathon(s) medal and timing certificate together.
HIM's medal and pic or cheque (1) together.
IM medal and pics and race number.
We have a family friend who does awesome framing , she does all the work.
I came close to going down the wrong road a couple of times in life , so I tend to display mine in my study ( my private place ) as a pleasant reminder that I chose the correct route and have enjoyed the fruits of down to earth hard work.

My wife and I both have our first Marathon medals in frames with a pic, race number, and certificate. They are hanging in our workout room. All others medals with race number etc go in a box.

If they were real gold, he'd be friggin' rich!
Some of those trophies, though, look like real silver. I think a lot are for prestigious marathon wins.

I don't do anything special with mine. I don't know where most of them are. I put them down on the counter after a race, and my wife usually puts them away. I'm not even sure where my IM medal is. T-shirts get hung in the closet, and I have a couple of them I really like and wear regularly. However, even with t-shirts, most simply stay in my closet. Now, if I were fast and had a bunch of first place trophies/medals, I might display them. I did hang two plaques that I won in small races on my old office wall, but I don't have them up anymore.

My home is off limits for trophys, one sport picture allowed. My wife couldn´t take more sport invading our life. ;-)
I keep my Ironman and Marathon medals on a stick in my shop (along with a few IM shirts and memorabilia on a wall) Kind of cheesy, but gives me some credebiliy and customers love to look at them and talk about races.
I´ve done over 100 Triathlons and even more run races, cycle races etc. So I keep all the other medals and trophys in the shop basement on hooks and have the trophys on a board.
What I really collect religiously are result-pages. I have 5 big files full off them. I think I´m missing the results for less then 10 races only.
Should´ve kept the races numbers, too. Would be fun to look at after time. Only kept the ones with single digits.

I just throw them into a pile. Back from my swimming days, they just became a weekened acquisition...with over 80 national and provincial medals. Id be rich if they were made of the real stuff!

The modesty in here is almost sickening. Mine hang from a corkboard in my gym, which is in my basement. I'm really the only person that sees them, but to shove them in a box seems like a waste of training effort and registration fees.

"to shove them in a box seems like a waste of training effort and registration fees. "
Mine are only AG placings or finishing medals from local area tris or 5/10 kms runs. It's not like I have tons of them or like they're Olympic medals. Also have a lot of medals/trophies from my car racing and go-cart racing days. Stuff the whole lot of them in a box under the stairs.
This is a hobby. Medals aren't that significant. It's all about having fun.

Hanging on a peg board or on the wall. Race numbers get taped into a notebook with dates, times, splits.

Mine were in a drawer at home. I snipped the lanyards off em all, then put em on a bookcase at my office. My wife is happy that I am not junking up the house, and it gives me the chance to talk about myself to all the inactive people who drop by my office!

when i get enough i'm going to melt them down and cast all custom bike components and frame with which i'll collect more medals. currently i have enough medals to make a spoke and a valve extender.
I hang them on the door knob of the room where the computer is at home.Makes loud rattling noises to warn me that someone walked in and I am looking at porn sites..... :)
