I think if you want to get sponsorship you'll have to work on your pitch a bit.

Go to the Hammer Nutrition (e-Caps ?) site.

Most smart companies have a sponsorship program of some sort. A good place to start is the companies Web site. They may even have the contact information or a lay-out of the formal process you need to go through to approach them for sponsorship. Typically, it is a deceison that rests with the Marketing Manager/Director or the owner President. However, keep in mind that many companies in the biz are small and people will wear a number of different hats - you call and your contact, The Marketing Manager is out the back un-loading bike boxes from a truck all day!!
Some things to keep in mind:
1. At this time of the year many company's in the tri/bike biz are very busy with planning for next year. It is both the best and worst time of the year to approach them. They will tell you.
2. Even small companies get swamped with requests for sponsorship from athletes, teams, events, charities and other well meaning groups. You need to offer something different or match up exactly with what they are looking for - it can be confusing!
3. Don't ask what the sponsors can do for you ask what you can do for the sponsor. It's a two way street.
4. Consider volunteering to help a potential sponsor with no expectations in return.
