You can fit them in smaller vehicles if you take the top off the box and stack it under the bottom half. It's a lot easier in an SUV or mini-van though. What we've done that has worked out to be cheaper is to rent a pick-up. At Florida 1/2 last year, we got a brand new full size quad cab for about $12 a day...

I fit one in the back seat of a Nissan Maxima........the trick was to remove the lower part of the seat to get the extra space. Case went straight in without removing the top or anything.....whole hog.

It'd be tricky to know in what cars you can pull out that portion of the seat, but if you find something it will at least save the cost of having to rent a minivan. Of course this all goes out the window if you have more than 2 people.

Thanks for all the replies. The travel sites don't show any pickups so I reserved a minivan. Maybe they'll let me see if I can disassemble their cars when I get there. Any tri chicks need a ride to Honu?

What about a convertible? with the top down we have had no problem with bike cases..usually have 2 hanging out the back!!

Hell I went with a Ford Excursion 4X4 for IMCDA this year! I do have 4 bike boxes to put inside it but man I will roll like a pimp! I hope it comes with spinners.

I fit two in the back of a trail blazer. I'd think you'd be able to get one in the back seat of almost any midsized or larger car provided it will fit through the door openings.

When/what time are you arriving at the Airport, I might need you to pick up my bike...I decided to rent a Ford Focus...tee heeee!

It'll fit in the bac of a Subaru Outback with the seats down. You might even fit two of them. Propped diagonally you might even get someone in the back seat.

We are staying at some dive called the Japan House or some such. They advertise fine linnens. Should be interesting.

Well i'm staying at the "Shilo Inns & Resorts"...not sure about this place either.
