The USA Swimming website has had kind of an online journal posted by ex-olympic swimmer turned University of New Orleans women's swim coach Ashley Tappin talking about her experiences with the hurricane. Most of the media news seems to be focused on the sensational and a 30,000 ft view of what has been going on. She gives you an idea of what it would be like to be a regular person who lived in N.O. but had the means and the good sense evacuate before the storm hit.
