I bought some Zipp wheels off eBay and I am trying to Identify if they are real.
The seller said the wheels were rebuilt with DT Swiss Hubs.
Details:
Used Tubular wheels
Non-Firecrest.
Front 404 appears to be "Patented āZipp Bulgeā Rim"
Rear 808 appears to be "traditional V"
Year 2007 or 2008
Original Zipp logos have been removed and replaced. (Fading and discoloration on the rim is consistent with logos from 2007 - 2009.
DT Swiss Hubs
Missing:
No embossed Z on rim
No embossed āHandmade in Speedway, Indianaā or āHandmade in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.ā
No bar-code or serial number on tire track (maybe not surprising for used tubulars)
I believe this is all consistent with 2007 but I wanted other opinions.
