I find the humour juvenile at times. However I have found Joe's post race analysis very interesting. I have subscribed also.

I enjoy the podcast too.

There are about 4-5 good ones and they are all slightly different but this one is way different and I like it.

Bob Babbit gets great people to interview but never asks hard questions or gets controversial.

I like the edge stuff

Bob Babbitt reminds me of Larry King at times. Interviewee will say something that sets things up for a follow up question, a laugh, or something else, but he just asks the next questions. It's a bit awkward. Their faces pretty much scream "huh, just gonna move on... ok"

Almost like he isn't listening but thinking about the next question.

Hard not to tune in though. He has great guests and seems like a good guy

Pretty much sums up exactly what I was thinking.

I do love Bob though, he is an icon of the Ironman world, and like you say, he does get some great guests; however, he gets hardly any views on his YouTube channel (unless it's Jan, Lionel or Lucy), I don't get it.

Thanks for reminding me to try it. I'm often listening to podcasts during run training. Episode #4 and the Colin story ruined my easy run; I laughed so hard I was barely able to move forward. It was nuts!

Thanks, also found these guys really entertaining! Recommended

I miss the Real Starkey days, and been struggling to find a substitute, but these actual pro triathletes are actually informed and also actually funny

My only complaint is that you cant comment...comment banter would be great...wouldn't they earn more on youtube?

Whenever I see a thread mentioning lactate or hear any discussion of it on podcasts, etc. i automatically think about how far ahead of the game these guys are training LT3

i'm probably in the same boat. the other day i was listening to them laughing for ages about how funny it would be if they pretended they gay to win the couples championship. i felt like i was handing out with a bunch of 13-year-olds. (made worse by the fact that i work at a high school, and joe laughs like a 13-year-old.)

on the other hand, i put more stock in joe's race predictions/analysis than most. he's far more practical and grounded in how he thinks about racing (his own and others') and i'd definitely want to hear his 2 cents going into big races. he also, of course, sees the pointy end of a fair few races too. if it's just them chatting for 20 minutes about their training camp or something i'm a bit less interested.

Skipper opens this video with a warning that for training advice youre better off finding Triathlon Taren and becoming a trainiac than listening to his podcast lol

That literally sounds like something I'd say; I have said something like that, in fact

I’m not sure how to respond to some of the posts above. If training at LT3 or putting yourself in the K hole isn’t training advice, I’ve been taking things way to literally……………………

This is actually a big problem. I laugh out loudly on the treadmill, which makes people look at me weirdly whenever I listen to them. Probably the best triathlon podcast out there

I don't listen to podcasts on the treadmill, but I do shout out the answers to Jeopardy!

Thankfully, the patrons around me ARE wearing headphones, so they don't hear me shouting my answers out, commenting "I didn't know that" or "Fuck, that's right!" on the responses I skip or miss, and "You dumbass!!!" on the ones *I* answer that the contestants miss, and "You fucked up" when the person gets the right response on Final Jeopardy, but doesn't bet enough [always bet everything, or - if you're in the lead - enough to cover $1 more than double the next person*]
