First, What other triathlon Web sites do you frequent? I always hit up insidetri, triathletemag, xtri, triathlon.org, and of course numero uno slowtwitch, but I'm interested in others' surfing habits.
Second, in a post on this message board (a while ago) someone alluded to the fact that pro triathletes tend not to have the best business minds when seeking out sponsorships and other entrepeneurial activities while many age groupers work in a business environment everyday and could handle that aspect of the sport much better if they had the sort of physical capital that pro's do. I generally agree with this. My question is, what can a pro do to really "make it" in terms of monetary gain? What can they do to get the most out of sponsors, and for that matter what is the best way to approach sponsors? Should a pro-triathlete view their profession like a businessman/woman views his/hers? If so, please explain. [JimVance - right up your alley]
