So i am aware off the reasoning behind shorter cranks for tri. But is it worth it, or of benefit for pure tt? I.e. when not worrying about saving your running legs.

I think a secondary question is, if the answer to the first question is yes, is it there a case for a longer TT crankarm length when compared to tri crankarm length (acknowledging that both are shorter than road length)?

What i get is that shorter allows for more ideal hip angles when in a very low position. And shorter saves the legs for the run. If i am not running, is there advantage to going a bit longer?

Shorter crank arms generally put you in a better position.

Crank length has nothing to do with running. It’s all about your position on the bike.
