I recently took delivery of a new Trek SC and I am surprised that the tallest tower base which the manual lists as 75mm, actually measures full 80mm above the base bar on my bike. Are yours the same actual length vs the spec? What could be the reason for this very significant discrepancy? Thanks.

Re: Trek Speed Concept tower base [Dimm]

Could be 75mm of rise after you factor in 5mm of drop from the stem angle? So the 75mm piece gives you 75mm of total stack, rather than being 75mm tall? Total guess as I haven't played around with this front end much yet.

One would think that a precise height would be more helpful here.
Perhaps there are some Trek people in this forum who could give the answer.
