Training room wall color? Real question
Currently wall (one car garage converted into training room) is a light brown. It feels more relaxing than anything if that makes sense. Was going to paint standard white, but was asking if there was a better color as demonstrated by personal preference or scientific studies.

Any suggestions? Or color combinations that’s worked for you?

18% (middle) gray, and then it can double as a photo studio!

I'd go with a wall mural, some sort of landscape. If I'm stuck inside working out, at least pretend to look at something interesting.

At the last Olympics teams seriously talked about the fact that the colour blue was the fastest uniform.

Mine is yellow with green trim. I have a big red triathlon wall sticker on one wall.

Of course, my training room is an actual dedicated room in my house with a rubber exercise floor, fans mounted on the walls, shelves and shoe racks built in, a 32 inch TV with cable, NETFLIX, etc., a dedicated Alien Ware gaming computer and 2 ms monitor, fans to cool the trainer, and a built in BOSE audio system. It also has its own environmental controls separate from the rest of the house.

It is a bike training room in the winter, and a yoga/stretching room in the summer. All of our exercise gear and clothing is in that room, even the charging stations for the garmins, sunglasses, etc.

It is also the only cat exclusion zone in the house.

I just re-did mine. I have a red accent wall, the backside of two built in shelf spaces are red, and the rest is a greyish/languid blue. Greyish roll-on floor and black rubber trim. It's a basement room and it would be too dark if it were all red. Then again, I ride with the lights off so now I'm wondering why I even responded.

A nice mellow gold with white trim, accents in black and turquoise.

I always thought about a race flag checkered patterned wall for my bike room.

My workout building is a taupe. Very uninspiring, but I’ve got an American flag on one wall and some other stuff hanging up so you don’t really focus on the walls as much.

I’m usually watching zwift or Netflix or prime TV while I work out so I’m not sure a different color would even matter much.

The thread you really want to check out (if you haven't already) is https://forum.slowtwitch.com/forum/?post=4146106.

I just finished touching up paint and I'm halfway through replacing the ceiling, so most of my bikes are out of the room and the walls are free of decorations. Great chance to take a couple pictures of my humble bike room. My bike workshop shares with the laundry room in the background.

Regardless of the colour, make sure to always have a nice fern in there.

I research a while back that investigated the impact of different colors on workouts. They showed evidence that red, blue and green are good for workouts, but yellow is associated with fatigue. I guess there is a good reason a lot of gyms use greens in their designs. Google it if you are curious.

Ben Moore Wickham Grey (HC-171) with Chantilly Lace trim (OC-65) has added 10W to my FTP (along with time in the saddle).

You're also going to need a plant... Perhaps a fern.

Walls are a mellow shade of yellow. The machine in the middle is my wife's. Out the windows which have closed blinds in the pic is a four mile long view of the lake out past our lawn. Not a bad place to work out.

Any mirror in there? Seems to help. The bigger the better.

Ha! Was hoping someone would recommend the fern !

To the op: if you sweat like I do my recommendation is for a mildew proof primer, I like the brand Kilz in “off white”

My FTP increased by 30 W just by switching from pink to grey.

Mine is in the basement so I went with white. Then I got a large scale wall hanging of sunrise on a mountain and placed it opposite a big mirror. So reds and oranges fill the (very tiny) room. Which gives it good energy.
