Training in Hong Kong? Possible?
I am thinking about traveling to Hong Kong for all of next summer, I have never been before, and do not really know what to expect. Is the city triathlete friendly, or do I basically write my season off? I f you have lived there before, I would love to hear about your experiences...

Thanks

I suppose you could swim in the bay, but I wouldn't advise it. If you're looking for a good suit, I can suggest a tailor. Three days from picking the fabric and getting measured to final product. Under $300, amazing.

you can have a great run on victoria peak where there is a marked course with some calisthenic station. There are also some good gym and you can fing awesome trail running on the nearby islands. Have fun you lucky...

Hong Kong "triathlete friendly"... Joke of the day ;-)

Anyway, take a look at Gordo's forum, I think he's got some reference to training and living in HK a few years back. Or just shoot him an email.

I have trained there a lot, but not on a bike. Lots of adequate (but some crowded) public pools. Traffic in the city is incredible, but running on some streets and along the bay is fine if you go out very, very early. The area just outside the congestion is very hilly, but quite car infested. I would imagine the quality of training would vary a lot, depending on where you actually resided.

In any case, be prepared for heat and humidity.

Where would you want to swim ?
