Does such a mystical place exist?

I see Cozumel could be an option

Are you looking for an organized camp or just a location to do a camp? Plenty of options for location - Boulder, San Diego, Clermont, Palm Springs, Flagstaff, Tuscon...

I'm on the fence which route to go. Last year my gf and I did Greenville, but I struggled keeping up with the training because of food availability. If on my own, I'll ensure I meal prep the day we get there to have lots of grab n go food. Something organized with meals included sounds nice, but worry the camp schedule wouldn't be the training I'd want to do

I'm not sure what this costs, but there's a training center outside of San Diego that has a pool, meals, and everything else you could probably want: https://trainatchulavista.com/.

Ironman legend, USAT Hall of Famer, owner of Endurance Sports Travel, and just all around great person, Ken Glah, is running training camps for people out of his new place in Cozumel. Ridiculously affordable and you won't find two kinder people than Ken and his wife, Christine.

Take a look at this camp in July: https://race-quest.com/blue-ridge-cycling-camp

The Blue Ridge mountains are easily accessible from DC, and we have a full gourmet kitchen if you want to prepare something. That said, everything is included once you are onsite - meals, accommodation, training, etc. We are arranging transport to/from Charlotte as well. We'd love to welcome you!

Ah yes! Their email actually encouraged this post. Cozumel riding is pretty limited isn't it? Other than that it does seem amazing.

Its not direct flight from DC but one hop via San Juan, but I keep thinking of going back to St. Croix to do my own training camp. There is a mid Island 50m pool, awesome swimming in the ocean, the biking is just up and down relentless with the wind and heat, and running there are lots of options. If you want to spend a few $$$ and stay at the Bucaneer it woudl be a great training vacation. I am eyeing that for April 2025. This spring, I am doing a week camp in St. George and then doing the 70.3 , but St. George could be a good option depending on when you go.

Sure, tons of them exist. It might help us if you narrow it down a bit.

What are the goals of the camp?

Is this an early season, mid season, late season? Volume or more intensity or a mixed type of camp? technical or skill focused?

All that should, at least imo, help dictate where you go.

If you want to do an early season volume camp then someplace where you can ride all day every day. Tucson comes to mind but you wouldn't go there for a mid summer camp, trust me.

Yep, spring volume camp. Lots of bike volume but w/ pool access for morning swims and trails/MUP for late afternoon runs.

You could do it in the Woodlands. I run private camps all the time. I hold 11 practices a week for the swim, you can go bike on the old IMTX bike course, I've got a pool where we can do one on one work on your technique and you can run on the IMTX run course.

I'll be holding a swim focused Age Group camp later in the year.

If you have any questions, let me know.

It looks like you have to be recommended by your Oly sport org, e.g. USAT in our case. Also, just FYI, they have open water for rowing and kayaking but no actual pool. Clermont, FL, has a great 50 m pool at the National Tri Training center. This is where I would go. :)

In terms of logistics/costs/infrastructure it's hard to beat Las Vegas. Tons of flights and lodging options. Once you're out of the strip the riding is actually really nice, the roads are really good, lots of roads with very little traffic and great for TT (with also a few very good MTB trails). Can be really windy though but good practice and other than the wind it rarely rains or not for long. I went several years in a row and would stay in Summerlin (I would ride the red rock canyon loop every day of my life if I could) but also really enjoyed staying in Henderson once with lots of bike lanes. Great pool options in both cities with 50m pools (although not always ran as 50m so need to check). Lacks the cute city/downtown vibe but from a training standpoint really gets the work done.
