Currently who is regarded as being a top multi-Ironman coach?

I am aware of people like Gordo and others, but just want to see how the general triathlete populous views / ranks the best of the best coaches?

Any and all feedback appreciated,

The coach whose philosophy you are most willing to buy into. It's like a bike. You get the one that fits.

Michael McCormack is generally regarded as a great coach, but he requires a huge amount of time riding on the Computrainer. I could never do that.

You have to trust your coach 100% and buy into his philosophy. The coach who you can do that with is the right one. There are plenty of threads out there are on which coaches are reputable. Just do a quick search.

My coach is Rich Strauss from cruciblefitness.com I've had others, but none like him. I have never, ever gone into an IM not being injured. Since i've signed up with him, he has kept me healthy, focused and injury free. I love the workouts and they seem to be working great for me.

As others have said, the one that you can relate to and trust. I would say Huddle and Frey because they seem to have a sense of humor. This works for me.

Gotcha - that works

By multi-Ironman, I mainly meant to portray a coach who is interested in serious long-term Ironman atheltes. Not just in it for the sticker/tatoo/t-shirt...

Well, there are quite a few people who are extremely qualified to help you achieve your maximum potential in this sport. A few off the top of my head:

Rich Strauss
Gordo
John Newsome
Michael McCormick
Huddle and Frey
Mark Allen
Paolo

But even in that short list, their training philosophies vary. You have to find what works for you and a coach you truly believe in. You should send a few coaches emails like you're interviewing them for the job and how they can help you achieve your potential.

Ditto. I like the fact that I understand what my coach is doing and why and that I have similar ideas and approaches. It is just that he contructs a training plan ten times better than what I can do.

That may be the right match but it doesn't mean optimal training and best possible results...

You will never get to optimal training (and the best possible results that come with it) if you don't trust your coach.

Oh, believe me, you won't have any idea what HIGH MAINTENANCE is until you know what putting up with me has been like this past year ;)

on the other hand, just because you agree with your coach and trust him/her doesn't mean that you are on the right track in terms of reaching optimal performance.
