He's a little squirrelly in the turns compared to a true pursuiter. Sometimes riding the top of the sprinter's lane exiting turns.
On the other hand looks like he paced well. He's able to hit the gas with 6 minutes to go.

Ugh. I've been watching all hour and the feed has been great. Now that it's less than 5 mins it's freezing up.

Anyone else get nervous watching him shift grips and standing? Hate to see him fall/skid out doing that in the last 2 mins.

51.115. I am confused because I never saw a single lap above 51.1.... they did not give splits for the last 90 seconds or so, but they would have had to have been really really fast. That or the split timing shown on the screen was always wrong.

Almost like Fransesco Moser's classic 51.151

This was fun! Will be exciting to watch when the TT specialists have a go, and when there is greater uncertainty of if the record will be broken or not.
Hopefully UCI / velosport can get the problems with the on-screen data worked out.

M'thinks the latter. Although he definitely put a world of hurt into the last few laps.
And, I want that bike. Desperately.
The question of who is right and who is wrong has seemed to me always too small to be worth a moment's thought, while the question of what is right and what is wrong has seemed all-important.

I'd have preferred if he'd ridden a higher pace at the start. Think he could have beat 52, but probably not the 52.77 I predicted.

Don't forget he got busted for doping after. I'm suspicious of his record. I don't think Jens tt's better than Boardman who held the record before - so any improvement will come from the aero benefits.
I reckon he'll go about 51.3.

Good luck. That's either going in JV's house or Trek's museum.
31.7614 mph. Awesome.

Top left was running average KPH, bottom left was lap times, bottom right was the old record and then every lap they would show in green how much below that he was.

Those weren't lap splits, that was average speed. He was >52 pace for the last 15 minutes or so.

That or the split timing shown on the screen was always wrong. The upper left was cumulative average speed, not splits. It ratcheted up slowly toward the end, because he was going faster and faster. raising the average. The only splits were seconds on the lower left - for example when he split 17.3 seconds, that lap was at 52.023kph.

So that was average pace for the whole ride, not just the previous lap? That would make sense.

Hahaha, I need the next size down anyhow. Wouldn't match my stack/reach. :P
He definitely brought the house of pain down. Awesome to see. And here's to hopefully starting an arms race for the hour record!
