102,000m as of 12/31/06! Dunn! More than I expected to do with the reduced volume week, it'll probably be back up to 120k/month when the regular training gets going again. So good to be in the water so much. This will hopefully pay off come June-August, my goal is for running to eventually be my weakest leg (no chance of that happening ANYTIME soon, but I can dream).
Hope you all achieved what you set out for, congrats. Happy New Year.

On to the January challenge!
A couple people asked earlier this month if I would wait and calculate the % scores until the second or third, as they'd be away and not have a chance to report back. I'll do the math on the third, then, to give everyone a chance to report.
Happy new year :)
maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine
If you're injured and need some sympathy, PM me and I'm very happy to write back.

12/24-12/31: 28k, total 50,350
notes: last week's 28k (holy cow, thats 100k+ if i did it for a month!) was done as 7 x 1.5 hr ocean swims at Playa Nosara, Costa Rica. The water temperature was approximately 82F, and only one jelly fish sting per day was encountered. the surfers thought i was nuts. the distance could have been as much as 35k, but i'd prefer to go for the low end estimate, which is still pretty hazy. it was much easier doing this kind of thing with a SwiMP3 player, even though i never did managed to remember how to get into shuffle mode.
so, missed my 64k goal, but given that i lost 7-10 days due to a mild cold/sinusitis, and i swam more this month than ever before, i'm reasonably happy. i think i even managed to discover the "secret" to the high-elbow pull style so beloved among modern swimmers, but i suspect that my times for the pool will be unchanged. january is run focus month.
thanks to tigerchik for her adminstrative duties during december! happy new year!
