Ya the chase group is always pretty big, often even bigger than this one was. And not a huge lead from potts, so i expect that he will be swamped shortly while this group gets together and forms up for the long ride. Does anyone know if there are timex primes again this year, and how much??

Surprised Macca was not up there in the first swim group...surely all that Olympic tri-format racing should've helped his speed?

Looks like conditions are about as good as you can get at Kona. Only 10 mph breeze expected and high of 88

why do you hate rappstar? we need it to be miserably hot and windy for him excel.

He also needs about 1900 racers to drop out to win

Cave, just seconds behind Stevens. I predict a big lead off the bike.

Ya it has been funny listening to all those folks talk about macca's new speed from ITU racing. Does anyone not remember he was dropped in every swim he did??He has always been a sketchy lead group swimmer in hawaii, sometimes holding onto the back of the pack, other times getting split off after 1/2 way. Today was just another one of his usual days, and i guess we can stop talking about all his increased speed now!!@

potts out in 50;30 on the steps, and dropped marco by about 15 seconds..Super slow swim today, 1st time in ages that someone has not broke 50.

Such a funny world. Anything over 50 is slow for these guys. Me jealous.

He's 8:35 behind Potts out of the water and almost 4 minutes behind Kienle.

And it looks like he missed the key cyclists (Kienle/Ronnie, etc) who are 4min ahead.

Anybody else surprised to see Faris Al-Sultan? I thought he had retired? He's looking good in the front swim group.

Horrible swim for jordan, something is wrong for sure. Andreas and Keinle were out in 55.22, so they have some time to make up. Looks like the wind is dying out here right now, so should be fast for awhile..

The train left the station and Rapp wasn't on it. He is going to be lonely for a while.

Really? That many?

I'd reckon it's more like 10-12 but that's just my opinion.

And Bockel made it out in 52:30. Amazing for having a broken hand. I hope it doesn't bother him too much the rest of the day.

Did Timo Bracht not start, or did he just have a horrid swim? Can't see a swim time for him yet.

82F at Hapuna Beach resort at 7:35 am and winds starting up blowing down off Mauna Kea. Should be tough for Age groupers.

Greg Bennett has a good position on the bike. Far too many I've seen so far have been like parachutes.
