He just moved up to top 3 favorite triathletes competing right now. Absolutely no pink. I truly wish he was even cockier.

Starky probably still believes he's the first* to go under 4 on the bike.

I liked the guy but he was pounding his chest about his sub 4 at IMTX as if no one knew that the bike course was short AF.

As far as Kona goes he should probably focus on not getting chicked.

all that training is affecting his brain...

The entire event (IM) is like "death by 1000 cuts" and the best race is minimizing all those cuts and losing less blood than the other guy. - Dev

Trump’s Chief if Staff? No way. Dude is 4:30 at best, and that is off a 7 Hour bike.

He's probably referring to how he will outrun them all the way to the Med Tent post-bike, when he nukes himself after the bike.

This dude's a younger version of Chris Lieto. He needs to earn some Kamehameha bling before pulling a classic McCormack trash talk like that.
So far, he has proven nothing on the big island. This is not cycling, this is triathlon, and so far he wasn't able to outrun Sister Madonna Buder's marathon time, so shut it, Starsky!

This is literally the only thing that makes Kona worth following.

He wishes he was a younger version of Chris Lieto. Chris was 2nd and 6th overall. That is a hell of a lot different than doing the robot shuffle to the finish line.

I like that he riles people up for the good of the sport. But I don't expect him to perform anywhere close to what he expects of himself.

If this had come from a pro with a good chance of winning, it would be cool.

This is a also-ran seeking attention.

Prediction: tries to go with Wurf, Kienle, Sanders.
Fries himself. Blows on bike.
Runs 4+.

Not original, I know.

i'd argue that it still wouldn't be cool. it's crass boasting.

Agreed. He's not Lieto standard; but why not stir the pot for a bit of fun.

This is classic actual starkey... Hilarious

Obviously fake boasting that's actually humble and self deprecating, while inviting people to shine a spotlight on the uber runners.... everyone laughs and wins....

Eta- the fact that other pros tweeted back makes it funnier and shows the bait is quality

It's going to be an entertaining kona
