Gutsy doesn't begin to describe this move. When was the last time you saw one guy - ONE LONE GUY - take on the whole frickin peloton with this much abandon? This move is all or nothing... either he is going to gain time and stay away to the end of the stage or he is going to blow on the HC final climb, but either way, nobody will be able to fault him for not giving a damn or not giving it his all. Tatics be damned there were essentially just two stages left in the tour this morning in which any gains could be had. And Floyd isn't going to have any regrets. Conservative no more.

Succeed or Fail, either way, Floyd is earning my respect today.

In awe

Landis will slow down on the last climb after the whole of southeastern France runs out of water!

Saw it yesterday in case you were watching.

It might have a chance because all the teams are "weak" this year

I don't know what is worse, that I have to see the blow by blow on eurosport.com, instead of watching it, or that if I was to explain to my coworkers what is happening, I'd get nothing but a blank, cow-eyed stare!

Can't you get the streaming audio? Those guys are freaking out over Floyd's ride.

JUST? How could you, of all people, not totally love the son of Mennonite farmers who told his parents that he didn't think God cared whether he rode his bike or not? He is a total iconoclast, willing to buck convention wherever he meets it, and, to top it all off, he rides steep. It is highly likely that Floyd Landis is really the bastard son of Dan Empfield and some poor, lonesome Mennonite girl who was wooed by your easy-going California ways and shaved legs.

What is strange is that if Landis does not get the yellow jersey back, he will still be getting on the podium and knocking guys off. The other teams should be worried about this. By trying to put Pereiro in trouble, they may be blowing their tour. Pereiro should just sit in and ride with these guys. If he loses, they lose.

Of course the other teams, Phonak included, have pretty much shown that they are not real good in the race tactics department.

I think Landis gives back most of that time on the last climb, however.

"...he rides steep."

After "son of Mennonite farmers," I misread that as "...he rides sheep."

My bad.
