Squealing noise from trainer (KKRM)
I have a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine that's been a faithful and durable training companion for the last 16 months or so. However, starting yesterday, for both me and my girlfriend, it's started making an unpleasant squealing noise when any lateral pressure is applied to the frame (even anything except the most stable pedaling). Has this happened to anyone else? It seems it might be the part that attaches to the drive-side skewer end, but we tightened it down like normal on both bikes. Any thoughts?

An excuse to get a KICKR wouldn't be the worst thing, of course.

The point is, ladies and gentleman, that speed, for lack of a better word, is good. Speed is right, Speed works. Speed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Clean tire, clean roller, tighten down roller knob, pedal smoother.

Thanks, but this is two different trainer wheels, tightened down as normal, pedaling as normal. The tires didn't both get dirty at the same time. The chains are fine. Something changed, and it's not those.

You two are much too strong and need a KICKR to support your massive cottages of wattage.

edit: You need two KICKRs to race each other.

Lifetime warrantee. Call them up and send it back for a new one. The roller bearings/bushing are likely shot.

I had what I described as a 'grinding' noise, which may have been bearings within the unit. I e-mailed Kurt, and in less then a week had a new unit shipped to me. Just go to their website and fill out their form. I had mine for 5 years, and probably 6-7k trainer miles. Great warranty!
