So, a tree apparently fell in the forest...

...and I guess no one heard or cared. Not even their top athlete, with twice as many followers, bothered to say anything.

Anyone want to spend $10k on an Ultegra bike? Or $17k on a bike with no front derailleur?

Why is etap $3000 more than Dura Ace?

BTW, I kinda like it!

I was wondering when this was going to hit the market - Ryf has been riding it for ages

If they don't call the e-bike version of this QUASI-MOTO I quit.

I actually like the look of this a lot more now, that the top tube is aligned whith the pointy thing in the back.

GTN took a look at Ryf's (they filmed a while back but released it now)

My guess is there is a difference in the wheels. It's weird they aren't providing all the specs on the bikes or even sizing/geometry or a fit chart.

I'm wondering if this is more of a soft launch. Sort of an acknowledgement of the elephant in the room type thing. Afterall, they have no bikes to sell anyone, nor have they for quite some time.

This design is a few years old at this point. It was supposed to debut in 2020, but COVID did it's thing.

I hope it wasn't meant as an official launch because that would be the worst bike launch I've ever seen.

That is crazy money. I love my Felt, but there are many other bikes I would consider before a $10K Ultegra Di2 bike. The Cervelo P5 would be my easy top choice.

I'm wondering if this is any type of launch at all. Like almost as if they priced the bikes absurdly so that nobody would actually buy one (especially without any specs). Doesn't seem like Felt is all that into triathlon these days, so maybe they said, "Well, we designed it. Might as well launch it. And then we can move on to other things."

In my prime, I was riding 56 mile bike splits approaching 24-25 mph on an aluminum bike that cost me $1,100 in 2008. Geez everything is getting too expensive with not so much benefit.

A similar thought crossed my mind as well. I think everyone agrees Felt was purchased for their dealer network to sell e-bikes, so perhaps this is an area they eventually abandon?

Re: pricing. This is a purchase I'm likely to make soon made by the parent company of Felt. Not a fair comparison in many respects, but it is sort of sobering to think where pricing has gone:

I don't mind this kind of pricing when the company has a solid entry-level product. Like Cervelo has the outstanding P-Series to go with the P5/PX.

Felt hasn't bothered to remove the now-ancient rim-brake B-series from their site even though it's (presumably) not being manufactured anymore Hopefully there are plans to update it. Because Felt used to be a bit of an everyman's value brand, and having $10K be the triathlon entry-level is a bit much.

Why not just list the spec and geometry on the page of the new bike? Seems like a simple copy and paste right?

I think it looks fine (fine, not great), but yikes that price tag. Are all top model tri bikes going to end up at this price range with inflation and supply chain?

It says same "general" geometry. Not sure what that means. Sometimes millimeters matter.

No mention of the new bike release by your star athlete on social media = Epic new bike launch failure.

Too late now, but wish I would've thought of that.
