Specialized Power Comp 143mm. My wife used to use it as her tri saddle but it started to rub poorly so it was just sitting around. Not bad even for a dude though!

I think Trek uses epoxy in addition to the rivets. I'm debating drilling out the rivets and either using a heat gun to heat the epoxy or taking a dremel and grinding it off. I am a little hesitant to do either because I don't want to compromise the integrity of the carbon.

Thanks. It was a long painful process. I had intended to get all new gear but had to take most of it off my poor Venge :( the rest trickled in but by bit and I finally got it together last week. The bayonet 3 is not the simplest of bars either and it didn’t help that the LBS didn’t believe me that it can be undermounted, or that Devox is Felt’s house brand. Sheesh.

What are you using for your BTS mount? I’m looking for something that really snugs up like that.

That’s a Speedfil cage with a Garmin mount on top. It’s secured to the Tririg Bridge but also has zip tie holes in the cage that I’ve used before.

Oh. Lol. Zip ties. Tried a few different rear mounts and always went back to zip ties.

Love the looks and the customizing. Since the Shiv is getting (relatively) cheap in the 2nd hand market, I could see myself doing a project on it in the future.

Could you show a detailed picture of the bentobox, spacers and Di2 hide-away. Also, what is your length (metric ;) )

When switching to 52t, do you think you'll need a 40t in the rear? Hilly/mountainous area?

Last question, does the blatter work with the bento?

Thanks for the kind words. Let see if I can explain the mods.

BENTO
I had to shaved down 2mm of materials on the inner side of both front flaps of the QR bento box. This is so tt is can seat over the bump behind the stem on the top tube of the shiv without flaring out wider then the top tube. Had to also epoxy a thin PVC sheet on these inner sides so tt I can extend the bento to a sharpish tip at the front of each flap. The original flaps ended rounded and couldn't cover the bump fully. Attachment wise, it screwed on using the existing screw tt holds the Fuelsage bladder cap on, and the two extend flaps are velcro-ed to the bump. The bladder cannot be use with this mod, but I do not need the Fuelsage bladder as I preferred a BTA & BTS cage to hold bottles given on course.

SPACER
There was a gap between the front slanted edge of the bento and the back of the tririg stem. The 3D printed spacer is actually a top spacer that is printed together with a column behind to match the width of the stem and fill in this gap. This is very similar to the preload top cap of the original shiv aero cockpit.

This is the shape of the 3D printed spacer and also a separate shallow cover to replace the existing control tower. The bento will not fit over any of the existing shiv control towers.

Di2 WIRING
For the Di2 routing, I stuck with the older 2-button extension shifters. Since there's no front d, I could remove the wires on the left extension shifters and make it just a dummy.

The space left over from this wire in the left extension allows me to insert the Di2 battery in this extension. I wanted this location for the battery instead of the seat tube as I had 3 batts died on me due to moisture in the frame on my old bike.

Wiring wise is simple:
- Left brake shifter to junction A (default wire),
- Battery in left extension to junction A (300mm)
- Right extension 2-button shifter to junction A (default wire)
- Right brake shifter to wireless unit (default wire)
- Wireless unit to Junction A (150mm)
- Junction A to Junction B at BB (1200mm)
- Junction B to rear d (750mm)

I don't live in a hilly place, but am just looking to try the 11-40t cassette. It gives me the same easiest gear as my 36-28 on my old bike. I'm also curious if I could get the grx deraileur to go beyond the 34t max that its specified for. (my existing ultegra could got from its 28t specified max to 34t with no issues)

Thanks BigBoyND, drew from a lot of the tips/tricks combing through the forum here. I'm looking to get one of the alden covers for the chainring like yours once I decide on the final chainring size. Will see how tt goes.
