I don't know what it's like on the south shore of Lake Erie but our cottage is on the north shore (Long Point) and the waves have been huge and crashing for the last week, plus it's been significantly cooler than earlier in the summer, so I can't imagine any algae bloom would survive.

That is my totally unscientific observation, FWIW..... since nobody else has responded :)
