in an effort to climb back into the top-10 of posters on this forum, and to answer some questions about my lack of integrity, and to do so in an organized fashion, i am introducing a series of threads that, hopefully, can remain true to their various topics.
in particular, SFTriGuy (SF-based attorney alan geraldi) has accused me of personal attacks, and i'd like to handle them one by one as i promised to do. for those of you who don't find this sort of thing entertaining or instructional, when i start a thread answering my accuser, i'll put in parantheses (SOS) for "sins of slowman," thereby alerting you to avoid that thread.
this all started, by the way, when an unattributed legal opinion was forwarded by jim girand to usat's board, which was anonymous, but which was written, assured girand, by a "friend of the federation." (i believe all this to be a correct assessment of what happened, if anyone knows to the contrary please correct me).
i then wrote a post, saying, hey, alan, isn't this you who wrote this opinion? and isn't it appropriate that the board know your connection to girand before they consider your opinion as from a disinterested legal party?
this caused a shit storm, the fallout of which can be found on two other threads, i was accused by alan geraldi of engaging in personal attacks on alan himself and on jim girand. i promised that i would answer, and apologize if appropriate, for these personal attacks.
i'll tackle the first of these here. alan geraldi wrote,
"How do you try to hide the analysis and correctness of the USAT's action through attacks of me and Jim? Well, referring to Jim as sneaky..."
alan's right, yes, i did do that. i felt that "sneaky" was the most descriptive term for what jim did. alan, and jim if you're reading, i apologize, here and now, in front of everyone, if the term "sneaky" is offensive and is not an appropriate description of what actually occurred. honestly, i'm happy to have you, alan, or any other slowtwitch forum reader, suggest a more appropriate and descriptive term. i'll use that one from now on.
alan, please don't accuse me of being sarcastic. really. don't get personal on me. just select the appropriate term to use in place of sneaky, i'll use it from now on, and we'll put this issue to bed and get on to tri bikes and wetsuit materials and stuff like that.
