Andy Potts looked fantastic. I like that guy.

Yep. Met him, Javier, and Greg Bennett at Toyota Dallas. I brought one of my cross country kids to the race and Andy talked with him a bit and took pictures. All awesome guys. Fantastic ambassadors for the sport.

Chrissie looks good enough, she can boost for the last mile. Carfrae has been chasing for a long time...

The gap is now up to 3:40. Wellington is digging deep to hang on and retain her unbeaten Ironman record.

You know it's funny: I'd love to see Chrissy win after that crash. Absolutely.

But then again, if there is a chance Rinnie caught her in the last couple city blocks... could you imagine?

We've never seen two competitors together for the win next to each other with just a few blocks to go in town, well, except for Paula's collapse and the original thingy when Mark Allen's wife collapsed...

Can you imagine...

What's the gap?

I hope she isn't short, but wow, Chrissie finally got a good test! Beat on the bike, and definitely won't have the fastest run split either.

This is god news for the future of womens triathlon!

From the Ironmanlive blog

Pete Jacobs ran the fastest marathon of the day 2:42. Craig Alexander won this race on the bike. Never thought we'd be writing that!

What is really amazing is that you can see what the accident cost Chrissie, about 9 minutes in the swim, and at least 10+ on the bike, and she is still schooling the rest of the womens field. Miranda is having her normal race, and is making it a race, but in context this is an amazing race that Chrissie is running. Given the speed of the course today, it is really too bad she did not have a 100% shot at hitting the record out of the park..

You mean Chrissie at 90 percent still can't be beat?

Craig Alexander was amazing today, and CW is looking great too... so exciting.

The coverage has been good, but when will they get to the human interest stories and Ford product placement segments? That's the only reason I was watching today ;)

Very true. Personally my admiration for her has gone even higher - we knew she could win handily when everything went her way (punctures aside) - in a mile's time we'll all know that she can win ugly too.
