R9200 chain rings on R8100 crank
Simple question: has anyone seen or tried installing Shimano Dura Ace 12s R9200 chainrings on a Shimano Ultegra 12s R8100 crank?

My bike came with the latter, with a 52/36 gears combo, and ideally I'd install there the 54/40 gears combo only available in Dura Ace. The Internet is full of R9200 vs R9100 and R8100 vs R8000 compatibility videos, but not 'my' case. Thanks.

I would suggest buying the Rotors in the 54/39 combo and stop over thinking

Thank you, but that wasn't my question.

I can’t find the source again but they are not compatible. I am looking for the same but 58t. And can only find it for dura ace

possibly compatiblity is allowed only bottom-up: I remember that it was possible to install 6600 chainrings on a 7800 crank, but not the reverse; dura-ace chain rings work only with dura ace cranks

You’ll be fine with any of the new HollowTech designs and cross compatibility.
The 54/40 Dura Ace combo chain rings will work on Ultegra R8100 series and 105 R7100 series.
