I'm about to pull the trigger on Rotor3D+ Power2Max (BCD 130, 53/39) with aero Q Rings. I've heard P2M has less drops and my experience with Quarq is that it does drop data too frequently. My concern about P2M is weight and reliability. I'm also concerned that a small chainring of 39 might not leave me enough gears on steep long climbs. Never a problem with a 50/34. I'm somewhat limited as I need a 165 crank. Can anyone provide me with some direction?

Get 52/36 Q*rings and you get the best of both worlds. Actually a great all around setup. As far as suggestion on power, read DC Rainmakers p2max review. I haven't heard of problems with the quarq dropping at least not the newer ones.

Ideally a 52/36 is what I'd like, but the BCD 110 becomes a major issue if I want to switch between my road and Tt bike, especially with the Q rings. They have to modify the chainrings on the 110 and Id have to have a different set of chainrings for each bike set up.

Rotor 3d crank would solve that.

how?
52/36 qrings are made for 110 cranks, that's what I have. No modification required. To switch to road bike remove crank set and place on road bike, just make sure your derailleur is set up properly to accommodate the qrings.
