Good morning. I'm currently riding a Cervélo P3 and am curious if it's possible to quantify gains in time and watts saved by moving to a Cervélo P5x. It would be for ironman distance races with a time of around 6:30 hours on a flat course like Ironman Woodlands. Thanks.

If you're doing a 6:30 on a P3, I'd be focused on the engine...
Having a 4 cylinder engine in a Ferrari doesn't make a whole lot of sense

Your position on both bikes matters much more, and how you’re strapping your food/nutrition to the P3... speaking strictly from an aero perspective.
Unless you’re 80, maybe spend the money on dialing in your position and even more importantly coaching. With a 6:30 bike split I suspect there is lower hanging fruit. I’d be surprised if the frame makes more than 5 minutes assuming equivalent position.

You can piece it together. Here’s a review of the P5x to the old P5. Combine this with P5 to P3 reviews, and you get a rough estimate. My hunch it will save you at least 5 minutes. Maybe more at your speed.
