Ordering removable core tubes
I feel like I should know this but I don't

I got a second hand set of Flo 60-90 wheels for the bike and want to replace the tubes and tires it came with. I need to use a valve extender.

Do I assume most tubes have a removable core...or does the description need to say it? All my other tubes in the gear box do have them but they are shorter and won't work with the 90mm rear wheel?

Any links to your favorite tube is great too! I plan on going tubeless maybe next year to get ahead of that question :)

Essentially all latex tubes have removeable cores, most butyl don't. This is very rarely noted in the product description, largely because the vast majority of sellers don't manufacture their own tubes and want to leave room to change suppliers without need to relabel. This is a good LBS purchase (because you can actually check), although some online sellers will note the valve stem type.

It's been a long time since I had to purchase a tube, so can't offer any current recommendations, sorry!

I guess I’m really looking for where I can screw off the whole top put on the extender and then through the top back on the top of the extender… Does that make sense?

My LBS carries Bontrager tubes and they have removable cores. Yes, you remove the 'top', screw the extender in it's place and put the 'top' at the other end of the extender.

Yup, that's a removable core type. A good LBS should definitely be able to help you out with this.

You don't need to move the valve core to the end of the extender.

So they just keep the air in without it?

Seemed pretty clear that the OP description was of the type of extender that does, yes, require this. Perhaps it is worth mentioning that there are other types that don't, but...

Leave the valve core in the tube's valve.

Add a basic extender like this:
