Orca 3.8 vs Sonar
Hi there,

After a couple of failed tries with another wetsuit brand due to its fragility or my clumsiness, I have decided to give Orca wetsuits a try.

They currently have a good offer on wiggle for the 3.8 and the sonar so I’m a bit hesitant on which one to choose.

I’m generally a mid pack swimmer 1:09 for IM/32 HIM/28 OLY so dont know whether to go for the higher range new swimmer suit or with the lower range experienced swimmer one. The 3.8is currently 100 euros more expensive.

Thanks a lot for your help as always!

I mean, isn’t there any preference between wetsuit flexibility (sonar) vs wetsuit material quality (3.8) for a swimmer of my standards?

Only had the sonar for a few years and liked it, times similar to yours.
When you say the Sonar is for experienced swimmers then go for the 3.8. not sure if it gives more bouancy but would guess more flexibility in the shoulders (which can also mean its more fragile)
Just checked wiggle and the 3.8 is 400 vs Sonar 360 €....than no doubt the 3.8.

Thanks a lot shoki, agreed, the benefit from the slight more flexibility on the sonar would not exceed the advantage of the better materials on the 3.8
